Algeria is a country full in internal contradicting challenges. It has been 16 years since a bloody civil war where seven monks were said to have been killed by Islamist militants. That war has left the country scared and traumatized, yearning for change with leaders that have been around during the French rule over 50 years ago. Their education system is behind where kids still use slates with chalk at school. There has been good news however, the last election for their parliament had the highest number of women elected then anywhere ales in the Arab World. Even with this though the country still needs a definite language. everything is in Arabic which a whole generation can not understand because of the French rule in the past. They have however started using an improvise of Arabic, French, Spanish, and Berber mixed together.
My Thoughts on it
I agree that with all of the contrast of culture in Algeria they should call for a change. They need to establish an identity for their country, something that makes them stronger knit together. A country divided can not stand for a long amount of time. They do not only need to some how get the different religions to coexist, but to also focus on spreading better education that is the same all around, so the people are all learning the same language and cultural values.
How It relates to Culture
The culture of Algeria is falling apart. If they do not come up with a solution soon, with all of the wars in that region, they could soon be run over and have their culture lost to an invader's. their culture is unraveling and will also keep going because there is uncertainty and confusion with in the language as well and language is one of the biggest parts of culture there is.
