Summery of Article
The article is about North Korea's threat against South Korea on supporting the UN in it's fight against stopping their nuclear missile program. The North Koreans threaten that if the people of South Korea participate in the UN's sanctions that they will take physical actions against them. They believe it to be a declaration of war and call them a puppet group of traitors. The U.S. and China however support South Korea in the sanctions. Though many people think this will actually help dampen their progress in nuclear weapons, others have been wondering what the long term affect of the sanctions could be on the North Korean people.
My Thoughts on it
I think that it is rather ridiculous that North Korea is even still trying to keep their nuclear program and that they are responding to the sanctions in a childish manner. If everyone around you is threatening to cut you off, why would you still try to keep holding on to the program? I also do not think that it is a good idea to threaten war with your neighboring countries. It seems like North Korea does not have very much common sense right now.
How It relates to The Political Life of South Korea
This article relates to politics with the threat of war lingering on the border. Even after the civil war between the two countries they are usually relativity getting along until now. The South Koreans have to make the choice either to side with their allies and the UN, or with their other half North Korea. If they side with the UN the hopes of reunifying the country will turn very slim, however if they decide to not do sanctions they could be accused of helping start another war.
