Summery of Article
The Scottish government is providing £1.2m to help fund projects in Malawi to aid children and families out of poverty. In return for this Minister Humza Yousaf said he would invite more Scottish organizations in to the country. The Scottish government is also helping projects in Tanzania, Zambia, and Rwanda, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh but the funding to Malawi will help keep the long friendship that they have had for about 150 years.
My Thoughts on it
I think that the Scottish government is putting good use to it's money. The more people one can get out of poverty, the more that country will be able to grow it's economy to allow it to become more developed and take care of its self. In helping the people in Malawi they will have better relation that will last for a long time. How ever the influence the Scottish organization may destroy much of the Malawi culture like much of European influence does.
How It relates to Culture
An alliance and aid is an important part of culture. The relations between different countries is a key part to how their culture is influenced and possibly changes. The more foreign influence, the more the culture may either expand or disappear.
